Budapest, Hungary: 8 October 2016
Since the Friday of this weekend was spent in Melk, we had to pick somewhere closer to home since we couldn't get on a night train Thursday night. We teamed up with Will and Mariah Allen and planned for Budapest. It is a three hour train ride from Vienna to Budapest so we caught the earliest train out of Vienna and the latest train back from Budapest.
When we got to Budapest we found an ATM and got some Hungarian Forints. It was fun to use a new currency.

Will & Mariah Allen on the metro as we made our way from the train station to the thermal baths. We were all sore from our bike ride in Melk the day before so this was our first |
They had these outdoor baths as well as many smaller pools, saunas and showers in the buildings surrounding these pools. They have hot pools and super cold pools, and hot and hotter saunas. |

We found a Church, |
And some cool doors. |
This is a memorial commemorating the Russians who liberated labor camps from Nazi control and freed the Hungarian citizens. |
We walked along the river, and crossed the bridge from the Pest side to the Buda side of the city. Buda and Pest were originally two independent cities that were united in 1873. |
Carli found a little piece of home. |
After sunset, we found a little shopping district, and sat down at a little restaurant for some Hungarian goulash. It was delicious. |
