Czech Republic Group Tour

Prague, Czech Republic & Sedlec Ossuary: 18-19 November 2016
Prague is an incredibly beautiful European city. Unlike many German cities, Prague was not leveled during WWII, and has beautifully preserved architecture. We arrived with the group and got situated into our hostel before going to explore the city.
As evening approached and our group tour ended, Cindy decided that we needed to have dinner on a boat on the river. So she spoke with the tour guide who made some calls to his friend, and got us our own private river boat with a buffet. It was awesome! We ate inside and then sat up on the upper deck for the next hour or so as we cruised up and down the river and through the locks.
There was even music playing that we could dance to. So romantic!

Day 2
Our goal was to find a Paternoster elevator which used to be common in this part of the world. Only a few remain, and we tracked one down at the YMCA in Prague. Who knew they had YMCA's?

Paternoster Elevators do not stop, but are always running. there is a continuous string of elevator compartments. The right side went down and the left side went up, and you could just ride around and around to your heart's content. You just step on when it comes and step off when you get to your desired floor. I can understand why they were phased out, but they are super cool!
Carli had learned about this building in one of he classes at BYU. They are known as the dancing towers as they resemble two ballroom dancers.

We left Prague in the early afternoon, and decided to stop in Sedlec to see the ossuary, or bone house.

Sedlec Ossuary:

In this church are the bones of 40,000 humans neatly arranged in elaborate ways to decorate the church. This was our last stop on our last group tour before heading back to Vienna.
